System Developer Requests

NGC has developed several tools for system developers interested in using the content contained on the Web site. These include:

  • RSS of selected NGC content, such as the weekly New This Week and Announcements pages and a complete inventory (including UMLS concepts) of guideline summary, expert commentary, and guideline synthesis titles.
  • A Create Search page with instructions on how to set up your own search interface with the NGC Web site.

Linking to NGC

NGC invites you to link from your Web site to the NGC Home page at http://www.guideline.gov/.

Text to Describe NGC

NGC is a comprehensive database of evidence-based clinical practice guidelines and related documents. NGC is an initiative of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. NGC was originally created by AHRQ in partnership with the American Medical Association and the American Association of Health Plans (now America's Health Insurance Plans [AHIP]).

Linking to HTML View for a Specific Guideline

The HTML view of a summary displays a simplified view of the guideline content without any of the navigation or site features. To create a link directly to this view, you need to append "&html=true" to the address of the guideline summary. Example:

        <a href="http://www.guideline.gov/content.aspx?id=47708">
        <a href="http://www.guideline.gov/content.aspx?id=47708&html=true">

Note: Graphics and/or other links from your Web site to NGC may not be used for advertising or commercial endorsement purposes.

Webmasters establishing a link to the NGC Web site are encouraged to send an e-mail providing the name of the Web site and the URL to info@guideline.gov.
